Suggestions for bearing installation
Preparation before installation
Cleaning work: Ensure that the installation surface and environment are clean, free of foreign objects such as iron filings, burrs, dust, moisture, etc., to prevent them from entering the bearings and affecting operation.
Inspect parts: Carefully check the size, shape, and processing quality of related components such as shafts and bearing seats, confirm that there are no defects such as scratches or burrs, and ensure the accuracy of the fit with the bearings.
Confirm bearings: Check whether the model and specifications of the bearings are correct, and inspect the appearance of the bearings for any damage, rust, or other issues.
Key points of installation operation
Matching selection: Generally, when the shaft rotates, the inner ring adopts interference fit with the shaft, and the outer ring adopts clearance fit with the bearing chamber. The central axis ring of the bidirectional bearing should be fixed on the shaft to prevent relative rotation.
Installation method: Avoid directly hammering the bearing end face and non stress surface. Use tools such as pressure blocks, sleeves, or presses to evenly force the bearing. If the interference fit is large, the bearing can be heated in mineral oil to 80-90 ℃ and installed as soon as possible, controlling the oil temperature not to exceed 100 ℃ to prevent tempering effect.
Installation accuracy: During installation, the perpendicularity of the shaft ring and the shaft centerline should be checked. When the box shell hole is deep, an extended micrometer head can be used for inspection. A gap of 0.2-0.5mm should be left between the bearing race and the bearing seat hole to compensate for errors and ensure automatic adjustment.
Check after installation
Rotation test: manually rotate the shaft or bearing box to check for smooth rotation, any jamming, abnormal noise, and other abnormalities. Then operate at no load and low speed with power, gradually increasing the speed and load, and detecting noise, vibration, and temperature rise.
Clearance inspection: For bearings that require clearance adjustment, such as single row tapered roller bearings, clearance adjustment should be performed after installation, and the clearance value should be ensured to meet the operating conditions and fit interference requirements.
Bearing maintenance suggestions
lubrication management
Lubricating grease selection: Choose the appropriate lubricating grease based on the working temperature, speed, load and other conditions of the bearing. Low viscosity base oils are suitable for low temperatures and high speeds, while high viscosity base oils are suitable for high temperatures and high loads, while considering the water resistance and other properties of thickeners.
Lubricating grease dosage: The amount of lubricant filled into the rolling bearing should be 1/2-1/3 of the internal space of the bearing, and reduced to 1/3 at high speeds to avoid excessive mixing and high temperature caused by excessive grease.
Lubricating oil inspection: Regularly check the oil level and quality of the lubricating oil. The normal oil level should be within the range of 1/3-2/3 of the equipment oil level window or label. If the oil quality shows emulsification, carbonization, etc., it should be replaced in a timely manner.
regular inspection
Appearance inspection: Regularly disassemble the bearing to inspect the condition of the raceway surface, rolling surface, and mating surface, as well as the wear of the cage, and check for any abnormalities such as damage, cracks, peeling, etc. For large bearings, it is important to focus on inspecting the appearance of rolling elements, raceway surfaces, retainers, and retaining surfaces.
Operation status monitoring: Monitor the rotation sound, vibration, temperature and other operation status parameters of the bearing. If there are abnormal sounds, intensified vibration or high temperature, the machine should be stopped for inspection in a timely manner.
Cleaning and sealing
Bearing cleaning: When disassembling bearings for maintenance, cleaning should be carried out, including coarse cleaning and fine cleaning. Gasoline, kerosene and other cleaning agents should be used, and the cleaning oil should be kept clean.
Sealing maintenance: Check the sealing device of the bearing to ensure that it is intact and can effectively prevent dust, water, and impurities from entering the bearing, while also preventing lubricant leakage.
